Cetearyl Alcohol is a cosmetic-grade fatty alcohol supplied as easy-melting pellets and beads for DIY cosmetics and small-batch cosmetic production. It is used as the thickener and co-emulsifier in DIY hair conditioners and conditioner bars, and as a lotion thickener and cream thickener across a broad range of leave-on and rinse-off formulations. As a cosmetic raw material, cetearyl alcohol works at several stages of a formula. As a thickener it raises viscosity in cream and lotion bases and gives body to a homemade hair conditioner. As a co-emulsifier for oil-in-water creams it works alongside an emulsifying wax such as ceteareth-20 to help form and hold a stable emulsion. As an emollient it adds a smooth skin feel and improves spreadability. To use, add cetearyl alcohol to the heated oil phase of your formulation. It melts cleanly and blends with the other oil-phase ingredients before the water phase is combined. It is also compatible in cetearyl alcohol and ceteareth-20 emulsifier systems for hair conditioning applications. Common applications: hair conditioners and hair masks; conditioner bars; moisturisers and face creams; body butters; beard balm; solid lotion bars and lotion bases. This VAXEN cetearyl alcohol is supplied with its full INCI name (Cetearyl Alcohol) and CAS 67762-27-0, with batch information on every pack, for formulators who need traceable, documented ingredients. UK-packed in a resealable 500g pouch. Note: cetearyl alcohol is a blend of cetyl alcohol (C16) and stearyl alcohol (C18). It is not the same ingredient as standalone cetyl alcohol, though both are fatty alcohols used in cosmetic formulation.
